Meet Cameo Mead, LPC.

Cameo is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Texas, as well as a Licensed Chemical and Drug Counselor and an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Trained Therapist. Cameo works for Methodist Healthcare Ministry as a community counselor that covers Victoria, Port Lavaca, Edna, Palacios, and Point Comfort Texas. She works with Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, Bereavement, some Personality Disorders, Bipolar, Eating Disorders, Marriage and Couple counseling, Divorce, Aggression Disorder, Mental illness due to medical problems, and learning parenting skills.

Cameo graduated from Austin Community College in 2009 with an Associate in Criminal Justice, Texas State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Criminal Justice Sociology and Psychology, and in 2013 she graduated from Liberty University with a Masters in Professional Counseling. Cameo is currently working on her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University.

Before this position with MHM, she worked at Lake Granbury Youth Services for two years, while there she worked with troubled teens from 10 to 18 years old. Cameo also worked with TJJD kids that were housed at LGYS. Her caseloads included drug addictions, traffic survivors, empowerment, self-harm, gangs, and anger issues.

Austin is where her therapy journey began. She volunteered at the Salvation Army with men that dealt with drugs, broken family, and anger problems. She worked with the homeless population, Community in Schools, Elementary schools, Round Rock Serving Center, and attendees of Celebrate Recovery. These clients struggled with things such as codependency, drugs, marriage, couple, sex addictions, transitioning from jail or prison, and other emotional and addiction driven problems.

Cameo was in the United States Navy for four years, then a police officer for ten years. She worked at a prison and was a 911 operator, and got to work in the corporate arena for ten years. Her favorite job was being a mother and insists it was the hardest.
